Hallway Man

About a year ago, my friend (see Haunted Apartment) decided that she wanted to move. No one felt safe in the apartment, it seemed that strange things were always happening there. She and her daughters moved out to a house on a nice side of town.

Everything has been fine until just a few months ago. My friend's daughter, who is now 14, came running into her moms bedroom one night teary eyed, screaming about a man in the hallway. She calls him the "hallway man" because she said he never leaves the hallway that leads to the back bedrooms. She said that he's dressed in a long black trench coat and a hat. She can't see his face.

Anyway, this man supposedly chases her down the hallway at night. I was pretty skeptical when I heard this, but this girl is pretty rational. Tears well up in her eyes when she even starts to mention it. Late at night you hear her running down the hall slamming her bedroom door, if she will go out in the hall at all at night.

Still, I was pretty skeptical. But then her older cousin spent the night. He sleeps in the living room between the hallway and the kitchen. He told us the other night, he woke up and he saw a man standing in the hallway looking at him sleeping. He thought it was a joke at first, but then the man was gone.

I have not personally seen the hallway man, but my friend and I have experienced his presence, we think. She has an open kitchen that leads into the living room and into the hallway. A few nights ago it was just the two of us there. We were standing in her kitchen when we heard someone whistle. I know it sounds strange, but it was a very distinct whistle of a man. The radio wasn't on, the TV wasn't on. There really isn't any doubt in my mind anymore that someone is in both of those places she lived. What I would like to know is if it's the same someone, or if ghosts just seem to find her.
